Radiologist Physician Responsibilities
Specific job duties include direct patient care, director of MRI safety and supervision of technologists. Serve as a radiologist and will be responsible for oversight of service protocols, oversight/supervisor of technologists and service practices, and interdisciplinary communication and interaction with Clinical Services to achieve Best Practice standards and patient care. Facilitate, implement, and promote research, quality improvement activities, resources utilization of imaging resources in the neuroradiology sections. Acts as the designated Radiology Lead during times of absence of the Lead Radiologist. Documents procedures, consultations and healthcare decisions in the medical record. Communicates emergent findings directly to the treating physician /Service in a timely manner. Directs the activities of residents, technologists, and nurses assisting them. Supervises the administration of medications, including contrast agents, by technologists and/or nurses. Participates in quality assurance activities to improve patient safety, performance, and quality of care. Develops and adherence to, standard procedures and protocols. Maintains a safe radiation environment. Acts as an consultant to clinical services. Ensures patient privacy and confidentiality of patient medical information; Ensures accurate CPT coding. Ensures compliance with federal statues, directives and polices, and The Joint Commission standards. Interprets full range of general diagnostic imaging modality exams to include MRI, CT, Ultrasound, plain film, mammography, fluoroscopy. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM – 4:30PM
